Under the initiative of the Government of West Bengal, this department plays a special role by providing financial assistance through various schemes for the upliftment of men and women belonging to scheduled castes, tribals, and other backward classes between the ages of 18 to 50 years (living below the poverty line).

Loans are provided through the following schemes:-

• ACP (SCP) Medium-Term Loan
• Term Loan
• Logo Traders Scheme (LVY)
• Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (MSY)
• Special Assistance Scheme (TSP)
• Education Loan (Education Loan).

Some examples of common projects: are the rearing of cows, poultry, goats, etc., purchase of vehicles for transportation, small-scale manufacturing enterprises, drug stores, groceries, small businesses, tractor power tillers, various types of repair shops, Internet, studios, and data processing centers. , Graphics Shop, Gold & Silver Jewelry Trading, Agriculture & Supportive Projects, Pan Bidi Shop, Micro Irrigation, Van Rickshaw, Vegetable Trading Pills/Papar/Pickle Making, Powdered Spices, Shoe/Leather Goods Manufacturing/Trading, Saloon, etc.

Also, such training as tailoring, beautician, computer hardware and networking, mobile repairing, etc. is provided free of charge for employment of Scheduled Caste tribals and other backward classes and unemployed youths of cleaning families.
