National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)

NSAP is the largest Pension Scheme in Malda District for the beneficiaries from economically weaker Section. In Malda District there are 3(three) ongoing NSAP Pension Schemes with 106378 beneficiaries. These Schemes are:

  1. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS): This scheme provides pension to old people who are Below Poverty Limit. Individuals with age above 60 but below 80 receives Rs.400.00 per month and people with age 80 and above receives Rs.1,000.00 per month. Total no. of IGNOAPS Beneficiaries in Malda are 66507 for the financial year 2019-20 (till December).
  2. Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS): This scheme provides pension to widows who are Below Poverty Limit and between the age limit of 40 to 79 years with Rs.600.00 per month. Total no. of IGNWPS Beneficiaries in Malda are 36910 for the financial year 2019-20 (till December)
  3. Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS): This scheme provides pension to people with more than 80% disability who are Below Poverty Limit and between the age limit of 18 to 79 years with Rs.600.00 per month. Total no of IGNDPS Beneficiaries in Malda are 1701 for the financial year 2019-20 (till December)

Banglar Bisesh Bhata Prakalpa(BBBP)

This scheme is an initiative of the Government of West Bengal that provides additional financial assistance to the elderly, widows and persons with disabilities in the form of social pensions. In Malda District there are 3(three) ongoing BBBP Pension Schemes with 7383 beneficiaries. These Schemes are:

  1. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS): This scheme provides pension to old people who are Below Poverty Limit. Individuals with age above 60 but below 80 receives Rs.400.00 per month and people with age 80 and above receives Rs.1,000.00 per month. Total no. of IGNOAPS Beneficiaries in Malda are 3630 for the financial year 2019-20 (till December).
